CAT uses theatre, still photos, video, and writing of all kinds to assist groups in the development of projects that will express their concerns and promote transformation. Some of these have included – development of communication models and public agreements for an NGO; creation of a series of images to support the opening of a community center; a slide show “dream autobiography” with young people in a program for troubled students; a performance piece including images, poetry, writing and rap about becoming “at risk;” non-interactive performances to promote discussion and learning about how to deal with pressures to smoke, drink, and (for younger students) participate in dangerous play.
